There are so many people dissing this product because of its looks, I thought "how ugly can it BE?!?!!" Amazon must've heard you guys, because they JUST posted a picture. So be forewarned--the picture you see here is EXTREMELY accurate. If this bad boy is just too hideous for you to leave in plain sight or risk scaring small children, then by all means look elsewhere. But I LIKE the big print AND the black/white sides of the switch for even more clarity.

No light on the switch? No worries--there's a light on the stinkin cord of the heating pad you're buying this thing to go with! C'mon, people! What kind of hoity-toity, highfalutin appliance designer wannabes are buying stuff for their office at Amazon? As far as not being able to see the setting from across the room? I only need to see the length of my arm, because I'm using the deal from where I sit in my office chair! Besides, why do you people need to see the switch from across the room anyway, since you're all likely hiding it somewhere under your desk or in a potted plant?

On the positive side, the plug has its receiver directly behind its own prongs, so when you're pushing the heater cord into this device, you're actually pushing this plug more firmly into the outlet. That's a much more secure connection than going in from the side. Only four stars? This is about double what I'd expect to pay for such a ridiculously simple and unattractive item.
